Monday 16th August : Kilmainham Jail Tour - This museum, and former prison, gives the visitor a dramatic and realistic insight into what is was like to have been confined in one of these forbidding bastions of punishment and correction between 1796 when it opened and 1924 when it closed and offers a panoramic insight into some of the most profound, disturbing and inspirational themes of modern Irish history. €2 - 10 AM or 2 PM  Meet in ISI Lobby; take the bus

Monday 16th August : Ice Cream Party - Come meet other ISI students AND enjoy FREE ice cream at this “ice cream and ice breakers” party. We will eat ice cream and candy and play get-to-know-you ice breaker games. This is a great way to meet other international students and take a break before or after class. - 4:30 PM  ISI Canteen

Tuesday 17th August : Christ Church Cathedral - At the heart of the city of Dublin for almost a thousand years, Christ Church cathedral has a rich cultural history which can be traced from the Vikings and the Anglo-Normans to the present. Its diverse architectural and sculptural heritage remains a source of fascination to visitors and pilgrims alike who enter this hallowed space. Tours are only €2.50 for students. - 10 AM or 2 PM  Meet in ISI Lobby; walk to Cathedral

Tuesday 17th August : Battle of The Axe - The Battle of the Axe Comedy Club is giving the ISI a HUGE discount to come and watch stand-up comedy on Tuesday Night. Come and enjoy the bar, have a laugh practice your English and meet new people! Tickets are  €5 and students should note that it is for over 18s. Wednesday 18th August : Malahide Castle tour - Malahide Castle is one of the oldest and most historic castles in Ireland. From 1185 until 1975, it was the home of the Talbot family.  This was a remarkable tenure by a single family and is one of the longest in Ireland. It costs money to go inside the castle, but it is FREE to walk around the grounds. Take the dart, €5.30 - 2 PM  Meet in ISI Lobby; take DART to Malahide

Thursday 19th August : “Opera in the Open” - This Amphitheatre is just a 10-minute walk from ISI! Come watch and listen to a series of FREE opera performances! Beautiful songs, crazy costumes, and amazing singing! Bring a lunch, take a seat, and enjoy! Free - 12:30 PM  Meet in ISI Lobby; Walk

Friday 20th August : Iveagh Gardens - The Iveagh Gardens are among the finest and least known of Dublin’s parks and gardens. They were designed by Ninian Niven, in 1865, as an intermediate desigh between the ‘French Formal’ and the ‘English Landscape’ styles. Only a fifteen minute walk from ISI. - 10 AM  Meet in ISI lobby; walk

Friday 20th August : “Powerscourt Estate” - These beautiful house & gardens lie at the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains.  The house sits on 47 acres including its Italian, Walled and Japanese gardens, Ireland’s highest waterfall and over 2,000 beech trees! This is nicknamed “the garden of Ireland” and is among the most filmed locations! €7.50 bus + entrance fee - 1:30 PM  Meet in ISI lobby; Private Bus
