Monday 9th August : War Memorial Gardens - These gardens are one of the most famous memorial gardens in Europe. They are dedicated to the memory of 49,400 Irish soldiers who died in the 1914-1918 war. These gardens are not only a place of remembrance but are also of great architectural interest and beauty. - 2 PM Meet in ISI Lobby
Monday 9th August : Ice Cream Party - Come meet other ISI students AND enjoy FREE ice cream at this “ice cream and ice breakers” party. We will eat ice cream and candy and play get-to-know-you ice breaker games. This is a great way to meet other international students and take a break before or after class. - 4:30 PM ISI Canteen
Tuesday 10th August : Dalkey Island Tour - Just off the coast of Dalkey lies a small islet, Dalkey Island, with an old church (National Monument) and a Martello tower. From Sorrento Terrace and Sorrento Park, on the town’s south beach, there are magnificent views. The old granite quarries are a good practice ground for rock climbers. Sometimes dolphins can be seen from the shores - 1:10 PM Meet in ISI Lobby
Wednesday 11th August : Trip to Kildare Village - Your passion for fashion will be well and truly indulged at Kildare Village, where you’ll find over 55 boutiques selling your favourite labels at greatly reduced prices every day of the year. Wednesday 11th August : “Inception” at Savoy Cinema Come see “Inception” at the Savoy Cinema on Upper O’Connell Street (north of the Spire). - ISI is getting group discount tickets—only €6.50 per ticket!! Tickets for evening movies usually cost €9 or €10 so this is a great deal! Give your name and money to reception by Wednesday afternoon if you would like to attend! - 7:30 PM Give €6.50 to reception; meet in front of theatre
Thursday 12th August : Farmleigh House FREE Tour - Farmleigh, an estate of 78 acres situated to the north-west of Dublin’s Phoenix Park, was purchased from the Guinness family by the Irish Government in 1999 for €29.2million. The house has been carefully refurbished by the Office of Public Works as the premier accommodation for visiting dignitaries and guests of the nation, for high level Government meetings, and for public enjoyment. - 2 PM Meet in ISI Lobby- 15 bus ride
Thursday 12th August : End of the Summer Party - ISI is renting out the top floor of Nealson Pub for an ISI Summer Frat Party! FREE HOT FOOD will be served, a dj will play TOP HIT MUSIC, and drinks will be €3 or €3.5. We will also have, guitar hero, drinking games, foosball, plasma screen TVs, and much more! - 5-8 PM Jack Nealon’s Pub, 165 Capel Street * NOTE: THIS IS FOR STUDENTS +18*
Friday 13th August : Dublin Wax Museum - The museum is an outstandingly original visitor attraction which has been completely re-imagined and designed focusing on a fun and interactive visitor experience. While remaining true to the ethos of a wax museum, The National Wax Museum Plus presents a snap shot of Irish cultural heritage but with a very modern twist! - 1:30 PM Meet in ISI Lobby- 10 minute walk
