Cambridge FCE/CAE Exam Tips
Exam time is coming soon so here are some tips for FCE/CAE success:
- Be familiar with each and every paper of the exam. This way you will not get any surprises on the day. You’ll feel more confident and relaxed.
- Do as many exam papers as possible before the exam and do them under exam conditions. Time yourself and avoid all interruptions when you start your paper.
- Arrive on the day of the exam with plenty of time. Don’t forget ID and your statement of registration.
- Reading paper: Underline the evidence for your answer in the text. If you can’t highlight the place in the text, you may not have the correct answer.
- Writing paper: Don’t waste time writing your answer again if your work is clear and easy to read. Write on every second line so that you can make corrections easily.
- English in Use: Don’t leave any blank spaces, guess if necessary. Part 3 – The given word must be changed! Part 4 – Don’t change the given word!
- Listening: Read the questions carefully and think about what type of information you are listening for. Remember only short answers or notes are required.
- Speaking: Don’t prepare a speech, don’t try to dominate and don’t treat it as a competition! And remember to smile! And relax, the speaking paper can be very enjoyable!
I wish you the very best of luck and every success in your exam!
Jennifer
